The School of Engineering at the University of Mississippi has been around since 1900, making it the oldest engineering school in Mississippi. But, we’re definitely a 21st century institution – with top-notch academics and athletes in our programs.

Electrical Engineering Ph. D. student Maisha Sadia Electrical Engineering Ph. D. student Maisha Sadia shared first place in the Graduate School's Three Minute Thesis competition. She explained how chaos theory can be used to prevent hackers from breaking into computers in under three minutes. Congratulations to
Maisha for her achievement!
Senior computer science student Joshua Montgomery Senior computer science student Joshua Montgomery is a transfer student from Northeast Mississippi Community College who has become highly involved on campus.” I recommend a community college as a stepping stone. College is overwhelmingly different from high school; therefore, I liked the smaller campus and close community. Plus, I received a Phi Theta Kappa scholarship as a transfer student to Ole Miss." He is a part of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, Computer Science Coding Club, and a Luckyday scholar.
Chemical engineering junior Kaylee Goodwin is our Chemical engineering junior Kaylee Goodwin is our next engineering ambassador! Her take on Ole Miss Engineering: "No matter what I need, I know I can ask anyone on campus and they would be glad to help me out.” Kaylee is highly involved on campus. She is a part of VASA (Vietnamese American Student Association), the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, and American Institute for Chemical Engineers.
Junior general engineering major Leigh Hardin "dec Junior general engineering major Leigh Hardin "decided to go with general engineering to have more options. I’ve had the opportunity to take lots of mechanical and biomedical courses that will help me stand out on my medical school applications." Leigh is the Honors College, Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honors Society, Phi Kappa Pi, Chi Omega sorority, and is a group fitness instructor on campus. She studied abroad in Italy to earn a fine arts credit- while also enjoying gelato, vespas, and renaissance art!
Sophomore biomedical engineering major Celia Watso Sophomore biomedical engineering major Celia Watson chose Ole Miss BME because,”The culture of Ole Miss BME is a culture that is authentic, connected, and challenging--it matches so well with my personal values!” Celia is an active member of Chi Omega, a club volleyball coach, and is a part of YMAA and BMES.
