Transfer students

The School of Engineering welcomes students from other universities or community colleges – or other programs at Ole Miss

Come pursue an engineering degree with us: you’ll find students who are just as passionate about a career in engineering as yourself. And, you’ll have a network of teachers and advisors working to help you succeed.

Academic requirements

To transfer from another institution into an engineering degree program at Ole Miss, you’ll need to have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.25 or higher. You will also need to have earned at least a B in Basic Mathematics for Science and Engineering (MATH 125) or in both College Algebra (MATH 121) and Trigonometry (MATH 123), or a higher mathematics course.

Transfer of credits

You should work with your current school advisor on your course schedule to optimize your credits transfer. The School of Engineering and the university’s Office of Admissions will determine which course work will be transferable.

Check out the Recommended course schedules for the engineering degree programs at Ole Miss to gauge which classes you’ve taken might be transferable. Also, you can use our Mississippi community college checklist to see which classes should be eligible for transfer.
