Dr. Al-Hamdan’s research utilizes remote sensing and geographic information systems applications for interdisciplinary environmental studies. His areas of expertise include:
- Modeling, planning and management of water resources
- Environmental modeling and assessment for water, air, coastal, ecological and public health applications
- Impacts of land cover, land use and climate change on water quantity and quality, public health and aquatic ecosystems
- Creation of decision support tools for different water, coastal, ecological, air quality and public health applications
- Use of remote sensing for water flow resistance characterization and soil moisture estimation to enhance hydrologic modeling
