Software downloads

Microsoft Products for Students

If you are an active student, Faculty, or staff member with a valid University of Mississippi email address, you can download Windows 11 Education, Microsoft Visual Studio, and Microsoft 365 Education free for your personal computer. 

How to get Windows 11 Education:

  1. Go to the Azure Dev Tools for Teaching portal
  2. Sign in
  3. Fill out the application to verify your academic status
  4. Download the Windows 11 Education ISO and Product Key

Microsoft Office 365

The campus has a campus-wide Microsoft Campus and School agreement which provides a one year license of Microsoft Office 365.  Students can download the Office apps using the steps below.

  1. Visit Office 365 Portal
  2. Log in using your WebID and password.
  3. Click the Install and More button in the top-right quadrant of the screen.
  4. Choose Install Microsoft 365 Apps.
  5. Select Install Office to download and install the latest version of Microsoft Office.

AutoCAD

You can download free AutoCAD software to create precise 2D drawings and 3D models.
Just visit AutoCAD or AutoCAD for Mac and create an account.
You should select the following specifications:

  • Windows: AutoCAD 2019, Windows 64-bit and English
  • Mac: AutoCAD 2018 for Mac, Mac OS X and English

SOLIDWORKS

SOLIDWORKS is available free for students to use on personal computers and laptops running Windows 10 or Windows 11. SOLIDWORKS is a powerful computer-aided design (CAD) software used for creating 3D models and 2D drawings of products, parts, and assemblies widely used by engineers and designers across various industries. The software allows users to visualize and test designs, and includes a range of tools and features for modeling, simulation, animation, and data management.  Training videos on how to use SOLIDWORKS are available at https://www.goengineer.com/solidworks-student-license and https://www.geoengineer.com/videos.

Instructions:

  1. If you haven’t already, create an account in https://my.solidworks.com
  2. Uninstall any/all previous version of SOLIDWORKS
  3. Go to www.solidworks.com/SEK
  4. Use SEK-ID= XSEK12 and enter all relevant information into the form
  5. Choose 2023 for the most recent version of SOLIDWORKS
  6. You will then be asked to enter the school’s unique SEK Serial Number:

Your Student Download Serial Number is: 9020005721545679ZDQ5X639

* Follow all remaining instructions and accept all defaults
* Your VAR Name is GoEngineer

ArcGIS

ArcGIS is available for faculty, staff, and students using their University of Mississippi WebID. It is available for download from the ArcGIS Portal. Click on The University of Mississippi login option then enter your University of Mississippi WebID.
