Transfer students

The School of Engineering welcomes students from other universities or community colleges – or other programs at Ole Miss

Come pursue an engineering degree with us: you’ll find students who are just as passionate about a career in engineering as yourself. And, you’ll have a network of teachers and advisors working to help you succeed.

Academic requirements

To transfer from another institution into an engineering degree program at Ole Miss, you’ll need to have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.25 or higher on a minimum of 12 hours.
You will also need to meet ONE of the following:

  • 24 or higher on the Math portion of the ACT (or SAT equivalent)
  • 76 or higher on the ALEKS PPL Placement Assessment
  • B or higher in MATH 125 (or in both MATH 121 and 123), or a higher mathematics course
Transfer of credits

You should work with your current school advisor on your course schedule to optimize your credits transfer. The School of Engineering and the university’s Office of Admissions will determine which course work will be transferable.

Check out the Recommended course schedules for the engineering degree programs at Ole Miss to gauge which classes you’ve taken might be transferable. Also, you can use our Mississippi community college checklist to see which classes should be eligible for transfer.
