Professional licensure

The requirements for professional licensure differ from state to state

Working in Mississippi

The University of Mississippi is approved to offer programs that may lead to licensure in Mississippi. Within Ole Miss Engineering, this includes:

  • Biomedical engineering
  • Chemical engineering
  • Civil engineering
  • Electrical engineering
  • General engineering
  • Geological engineering
  • Geology
  • Mechanical engineering
Working outside of Mississippi

The university takes part in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA), which establishes comparable national standards for interstate offering of postsecondary distance education. NC-SARA does not ensure that our programs lead to professional licensure outside of Mississippi.

If you plan to work outside of Mississippi, you should check the professional licensing requirements for that state.  See guidance to help determine whether our engineering programs meet the licensure requirements.
