Center for Diagnostics, Design, Devices and Biomechanics (CD3B)

CD3B connects science, medicine and engineering to advance the development of modern medical technology and devices, as well as new surgical approaches and practices

The Center for Diagnostics, Design, Devices and Biomechanics (CD3B) creates a space where  engineering faculty and other professors from the University of Mississippi can team up with industry experts to design and develop biomedical solutions that can benefit the people of Mississippi and beyond.

CD3B director Dwight Waddell gives MS Lt Governor Delbert Hosemann a tour of the center’s construction site in 2021.

So far, the State of Mississippi has allocated $5 million to support CD3B’s objectives. Thanks to this, the center has purchased state-of-the-art equipment for its laboratories at the university’s research hub, Insight Park.
