Software Downloads

Download the essential software tools you need to support your engineering studies and research.

If you are a student, faculty, or staff member with a valid University of Mississippi email address, you can download Windows 11 Education, Microsoft Visual Studio, and Microsoft 365 Education free for your personal computer.

 

How to get Windows 11 Education:

1. Go to the Azure Dev Tools for Teaching portal
2. Sign in
3. Fill out the application to verify your academic status
4. Download the Windows 11 Education ISO and Product Key

Ole Miss has a campus-wide Microsoft Campus and School agreement which provides a one year license for Microsoft Office 365.

Download the Office apps using these steps:

  1. Visit Office 365 Portal
  2. Log in using your WebID and password
  3. Choose Apps from the sidebar on the left
  4. Click the Install apps button in the top-right quadrant of the screen
  5. Choose Microsoft 365 Apps
  6. Select Install Office to download and install the latest version of Microsoft Office

SOLIDWORKS is available for students to use for free on personal computers and laptops running Windows 10 or Windows 11. SOLIDWORKS is computer-aided design (CAD) software used to create 3D models and 2D drawings of products, parts, and assemblies widely used by engineers and designers across various industries. The software allows users to visualize and test designs, and includes a range of tools and features for modeling, simulation, animation, and data management.

Instructions:

  1. If you haven’t already, create an account in https://my.solidworks.com
  2. Uninstall any/all previous version of SOLIDWORKS
  3. Go to www.solidworks.com/SEK
  4. Use SEK-ID= XSEK12 and enter all relevant information into the form
  5. Choose 2025 for the most recent version of SOLIDWORKS
  6. You will then be asked to enter the school’s unique SEK Serial Number:

Your Student Download Serial Number is: 9020-0084-7048-5969-HGDQ-9B4F

* Follow all remaining instructions and accept all defaults

* Your VAR Name is GoEngineer

Note:

The 2023 version of Solidworks can be renewed using the above key.

To do this, follow the steps below for Windows:

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Solidworks 2023
  2. Right click dots, select Modify
  3. Enter new key, click next
  4. Click next
  5. Click Modify Now, click finish
  6. Now start up Solidworks
  7. Select Activate license
  8. Click "Select All" on the right side of the product box
  9. Enter UM email address
  10. Click next
  11. Click finish

ArcGIS is available for faculty, staff, and students using their University of Mississippi WebID. It is available for download from the ArcGIS Portal. Click on The University of Mississippi login option then enter your University of Mississippi WebID.
