Build Your Future in Any Field

Each department at Ole Miss Engineering provides specialized programs designed to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to succeed. From biomedical innovation to advanced manufacturing and beyond, our programs prepare students to tackle challenges and lead in their chosen industries.

Our Departments

Department of Biomedical Engineering

We prepare students for the interdisciplinary world of bioengineering, where technology and medicine meet. Students choose a study track in Biomolecular Engineering, Biomedical Systems, or Bioinformatics.

Department of Chemical Engineering

Chemical engineers bring together chemistry, mathematics, physics and engineering principles to discover solutions to real-world challenges in pharmaceuticals, food, personal care products, petrochemicals and in many other industries. We prepare students to pursue careers in manufacturing, petrochemicals, oil and gas, biotechnology, the environmental field and more.

Department of Civil Engineering

We emphasize the engineering sciences and civil engineering design concepts needed to design, construct, maintain naturally and/or build environmental systems such as roads, highways, bridges, dams, canals, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, and buildings.

Department of Computer and Information Science

We prepare our students to pursue a wide spectrum of roles – develop software, applications, or websites. With our program, you could design, maintain, or protect computer systems. Or you could focus on data – how to store, organize and derive value from it. Computer scientists work in almost every industry because computing is the glue that holds much of contemporary science, technology, commerce, and entertainment together.

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

At Ole Miss ECE, we educate future engineers in cutting-edge electrical and computer technologies. Our faculty conduct pioneering research, driving innovation in various fields. Through hands-on learning and industry connections, we prepare students for impactful careers, shaping the future of technology.

Department of Geology and Geological Engineering

At Ole Miss Engineering's Department of Geology and Geological Engineering, we delve into Earth's mysteries. We offer comprehensive education, innovative research, and practical training. Our students study the planet's past, understand its present, and engineer solutions for a sustainable future, fostering expertise in geology and geological engineering.

Department of Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineering is a fundamental discipline that emphasizes problem solving related to mechanical, materials, fluid, thermal, and environmental systems.
