Statement of Research Interests:
My current research involves the use of wavelet-like functions in computational electromagnetics, and I plan to continue working with my advisor on the development of algorithms using these functions. Frequency domain and time domain algorithms using linear and higher order wavelet-like functions have already been developed. As the research on these wavelet-like basis functions progresses, there are several topics that can be investigated. These include investigating the dispersion characteristics of the algorithm, checking for the existence of and searching for ways to eliminate spurious modes, and implementing absorbing boundary conditions. To this point, my primary research area has been the finite element solution of both static and time-varying problems in computational electromagnetics; but along with finite element analysis, I also have experience with integral equations, the finite difference method, the finite difference time domain method, and spectral domain techniques. In addition to continuing my research in computational electromagnetics, I am also pursuing research in computational acoustics. I am also interested in experimental work in microwave devices and antennas.
