Michael Caples (Chemical Engineering)


Michael Caples has over 20 years’ experience representing clients in environmental and governmental matters, including air, water, solid waste and hazardous waste permitting; environmental due diligence, cleanup and remediation; and compliance auditing.

He has defended allegations and negotiated settlements for RCRA, Clean Water Act and Clean Air Act violations; prepared Solid Waste Management Plans for counties and regional solid waste authorities; and drafted regulations in association with water, sewer and storm water programs.

Michael is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® and Chambers USA for his work in environmental and governmental law. He served on the Mississippi Hazard Mitigation Council for six years, on the Executive Committee for the Mississippi Coordinating Council for Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System, as Interim Executive Director for the Pearl River County Utility Authority and as Environmental Counsel for the Mississippi Association of Supervisors.

He obtained his J.D. and B.S. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Mississippi. Michael is admitted to The Mississippi Bar, the U.S. District Courts Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi and the U.S. Court of Appeals Fifth Circuit.
