Hunter Howell (Chemical Engineering)

Hunter is a 2007 chemical engineering graduate, 4th generation Rebel, and 3rd generation Ole Miss Engineer. While at Ole Miss, he was the Engineering Student Body President and a Taylor Medalist.

Hunter has spent the first 8 years of his professional career working for ExxonMobil in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In his current role as an operations supervisor at the Baton Rouge Refinery, Hunter is responsible for a staff of nearly 70 technicians, supervisors, engineers, and coordinators. He is also accountable for the safety, environmental performance, reliability, and productivity for his area of the refinery - known as Virgin Light Ends. He manages an annual operating budget of nearly $20M. Prior to his current role, Hunter completed assignments as process contact engineer, fuels economist, and technical supervisor at the Baton Rouge Refinery.

Hunter is the team captain for ExxonMobil recruiting at the Ole Miss School of Engineering. He is a frequent guest speaker for the ENGR 400 Leadership Class and the School of Engineering Freshman Convocation.

Hunter and his wife Kelly are the proud parents of Hudson Kent Howell, born in December 2014. Hudson is named after his grandfather - Kent Howell - who is also a graduate from the School of Engineering (BSCE) and a former chairman of the Engineering Advisory Board.
