Curt Curtis (Mechanical Engineering)

Curt Curtis is the Technical/New Product Introduction Leader at GE Aviation’s Batesville, MS Composite Operations plant. He was a member of the start-up team, and has seen the plant grow to over 400 employees since 2007. His role is responsible for designing lean production lines to fabricate high performance aircraft engine parts from composites materials

With 32 years of service with GE, he has held multiple roles in procurement, program management, quality and manufacturing engineering. Curt is a Six Sigma Blackbelt. He has played key roles in the productionization of GE’s industry leading composite fan blades and fan cases, including co-authoring 8 patents related to the manufacturing processes.

Curt enjoys mentoring young engineers and was a designer of GE’s Composite Technical Track program, a supporter of Mississippi State and University of Mississippi’s Rocket Teams, and supports STEM by presenting engineering opportunities at area high schools. He has a Mechanical Engineering degree from University of Lowell and an MBA from Xavier.

Curt has a wife and 3 daughters, Christa received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Mississippi and Catrina is a Sophomore studying Public Policy.
