Bathsheba Sams (Chemical Engineering)

Bathsheba joined the forest products industry over 36 years ago after graduating from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. She has held various positions in engineering, manufacturing, business and corporate human resources.

Bathsheba is currently Vice President Human Resources, Global Cellulose Fibers (GCF), IP-Asia, and Global HR for HR, at International Paper Company. Her current responsibilities include providing Strategic HR leadership for the Global Cellulose Fibers business and the IP Asia Region organization. In addition, she is responsible for the development and succession planning for the HR function across the global enterprise.

Bathsheba is an alumna of Leadership Memphis, 2004. She is the 2016 recipient of the Girls Inc. SMART award and recognized in 2017, by the Memphis Business Journal as a “Super Woman in Business”. She currently serves as chair of the board for NEXUS (mentoring organization), executive board member for the National Civil Rights Museum, and board member for Memphis in May.
