My lab uses non-reactive and reactive molecular dynamics simulation to investigate interfacial, interphase, confinement and bulk phenomena in hybrid nano-enhanced material systems exposed to different external conditions, and how these phenomena translate into the observed macro-scale physico-chemo-mechanical behavior of these materials.
Our goal is to elucidate the processing-structure-property-performance relationship of hybrid materials exposed to a variety of external conditions, such as extreme environments. Our research focus is primarily on 1) polymer nanocomposites, especially graphene-reinforced systems, and 2) biophysical systems, such as graphene oxide (GO) and PEGylated GO nanocarriers for drug/vaccine delivery.
