Dear Alumni and Friends
of Ole Miss Engineering,

I hope you had a good Thanksgiving gathering with family and friends. At the School of Engineering, we had a few moments of quietness with students going home for the holiday. Now all are back and are getting ready for end-of-semester examinations.

About two weeks ago, the school mailed the 2012 issue of Ole Miss Engineer magazine to your home. This issue features our young and outstanding alumni, who have graduated since 2000. We are amazed by the versatility of their careers and their early success! If you have not received the magazine at home, please feel free to provide your postal mailing address by responding to this email. We will send you a copy. Or, you can view the online copy.

In this issue of the newsletter, we bring you news of Adam Smith, assistant professor of chemical engineering. Adam was one of our own undergraduates and has returned to the department to teach after acquiring graduate degrees and postdoctoral experience elsewhere. For student news, we present Maha Yusuf, an international exchange student, who is also a U.S. State Department cultural ambassador. You will be amazed by Maha's story.

For alumni news, we are proud to present to you Denny and Robin Buchannon, who are married and also work on campus. We thank them for their love of the school and their donation to benefit students. In this issue, we also provide you with information on the newly founded Woods Society, so you can have the same opportunity as Denny and Robin to help enrich our students' experiences while they study engineering at Ole Miss!

Our next issue of the monthly e-newsletter will appear in January. Let me use this opportunity to send you an early greeting of Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Best wishes,

Alex Cheng Signature
