Dear Alumni and Friends
of Ole Miss Engineering,

Welcome to the September 2012 issue of the School of Engineering newsletter.

Last week we started another new academic year and greeted a new engineering freshman class of more than 300, as well as returning students. Although we are still waiting for the final enrollment number, it is certain that for the first time in its history, the School of Engineering will have an undergraduate enrollment exceeding 1,000, with a total enrollment of about 1,200.

We also welcomed a number of new faculty members, including the electrical engineering and civil engineering department chairs along with several new assistant and associate professors and instructors in chemical, civil, geological and mechanical engineering and computer science. We will use future opportunities to introduce these new faculty members to you.

I hope you enjoy reading the news about the school.

Best wishes,

Alex Cheng Signature
