Wongs Create Chemical Engineering Scholarship

The family of a University of Mississippi chemical engineering alumnus is helping future students attend his alma mater through a generous development gift. The Lorna and Phillip J. Geology Student Wins National Scholarship

University of Mississippi senior Corey Schaal of Paris, Tennessee, is the recipient of a national scholarship from the Underground Construction Association of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration. The scholarship was established to encourage undergraduate and graduate students to pursue careers in the fields of tunneling, underground construction and associated disciplines. Read more...


Jones Earns Farrington Distinguished Entrepreneur Award

Henry Jones, co-founder of Kopis Mobile, is the recipient of the 2014 Farrington Distinguished Entrepreneurship award. The award, named for University of Mississippi alumni Jan and Lawrence Farrington, is given annually to a graduate who exemplifies the best of entrepreneurship. Jones, a Richton native who earned his mechanical engineering degree from UM in 1995, calls the recognition “a big surprise and an enormous honor.” Read more...
