Dear Alumni and Friends
of Ole Miss Engineering,

Even in the heat of the summer, the school is full of activities. Our Engineers Without Borders team is preparing to embark on a trip to the West African nation of Togo to do an assessment and service work. The school also conducted its first summer "Engineering Boot Camp," which gathered 20 incoming freshmen for a four-week session to live and learn together and to become better prepared for the intensive first-year math and science curricula.

We also saw the arrival of two nationally recruited department chairs. Dr. "Vish" is the new chair of the Department of Electrical Engineering, and Dr. Najjar heads the Department of Civil Engineering. In two weeks, we also will welcome about half-a-dozen new faculty starting in various departments. We will introduce these new faculty to you in due time.

Stay cool!,
