KENT HOWELL (BSCE 1971)
  1. Received B.S. in Civil Engineering from Ole Miss in 1971. During undergraduate school member of: Chi Epsilon, Tau Beta Pi, Student Chapter of ASCE).
  2. Upon graduation spent 3 years in Navy Civil Engineering Corps (supervised military construction in: Caribbean, South America, and Indian Ocean).
  3. After military returned to Ole Miss and received Law Degree in 1977.
  4. Upon graduation from Law School joined the law firm of Smith, Currie and Hancock in Atlanta - specializing in construction and engineering related legal matters. Also:
    • Served as the legal representative on a team of consultants and engineers that reviewed contracting procedures for the Arabian American Oil Company in Saudi Arabia.
    • Served as Vice-President of the Atlanta chapter of the National Contract Management Association.
    • Served as Co-Chairman of the American Bar Association's Committee on Construction Litigation.
  5. In 1980 returned to Oxford, MS and from then until present, have been in the highway and heavy construction business. Also: Past President of Mississippi Road Builder's Association.
